“Blood in the Rust Belt: Mourning and Memorialization in the Context of Community Violence,”

The paper is the latest product of our university-community collaboration in Syracuse addressing gun violence, its effects, and interventions to reduce the trauma it causes, and to reduce its incidence. You will see the research involves and Syracuse University faculty and students and community collaborators in an innovative research and teaching model (CARE—Community Action Research and Education) developed by Sandra Lane (Falk College), Robert Rubinstein (Maxwell School of Citizenship), Shaundel Sanchez (Maxwell School of Citizenship)and others during the past two decades.
