“Blood in the Rust Belt: Mourning and
Memorialization in the Context of Community Violence,”
The paper is the latest product of our
university-community collaboration in Syracuse addressing gun violence, its
effects, and interventions to reduce the trauma it causes, and to reduce its
incidence. You will see the research involves and Syracuse University faculty
and students and community collaborators in an innovative research and teaching
model (CARE—Community Action Research and Education) developed by Sandra Lane
(Falk College), Robert Rubinstein (Maxwell School of Citizenship), Shaundel Sanchez (Maxwell School of Citizenship)and others during the past two decades.
