Saied is a doctoral student in the Department of Public Administration and International Affairs and a
research assistant at the Center for Policy Research, where he works with Professor Sarah Hamersma. He has a broad interest in social policy and inequality, particularly as they pertain to children's
well-being. His current research focuses on children's nutritional intake, food preferences, and food security. Prior to enrolling in the Ph.D. program, Saied had engaged in
political campaigning, issue advocacy, and mentoring at-risk adolescents.
