Innovative new initiatives, mission-specific faculty grants, and other means to re-imagining citizenship education, scholarship, and engagement

students3The Tenth Decade Project is the Maxwell School’s sandbox for new citizenship programming — a collection of initiatives fostering innovation and collaboration. In the years leading up to the School’s 2024 centennial, the Tenth Decade Project emphasizes Maxwell’s legacy of interdisciplinary citizenship education and scholarship, and a commitment to sustain that tradition of excellence into Maxwell’s second century.

Launched by Dean James Steinberg in the fall of 2014 in conjunction with Maxwell’s 90th anniversary celebrations, the Tenth Decade Project has already generated Five Faculty-Driven Citizenship Projects and the naming of three Tenth Decade Scholars.

Supporting Tenth Decade

The Tenth Decade Project fund was established through a lead gift from long-time Maxwell supporters Gerry and Daphna Cramer, along with additional gifts that have since brought the Tenth Decade Fund to nearly $1 million in support for citizenship initiatives. Fund raising for Tenth Decade continues today — here’s how you can help.
