Supporting Tenth Decade

The initiatives of the Tenth Decade Project are made possible by gifts from the alumni, friends, and other supporters of the Maxwell School. Fund raising is ongoing and further initiatives will be announced.

Fund raising for the Tenth Decade Project was formally launched at Maxwell’s 90th Anniversary Celebration in Washington, D.C., in November 2014 (pictured here). Many at the event had sponsored tables to benefit the Tenth Decade Fund.

Gerry is an alumnus of Syracuse’s management school and a long-time Maxwell supporter. He previously has funded professorships in international affairs and aging studies, an SU-Israeli student exchange, and programs in SU’s Institute for National Security and Counterterrorism (support, in that last case, exceeding $2 million.)

Potential philanthropic partnerships abound across the Tenth Decade Project. Friends and funders who appreciate the Maxwell School’s unique legacy in citizenship education will find a wide variety of projects and priorities to support, all central to the School’s definitional focus. “Those familiar with the School understand that its approach to citizenship and public service is especially applicable to the complexity of world challenges today,” says Linda Birnbaum, assistant dean for advancement. “People have always been eager to support citizenship education here.”
