Bio
Maraam Dwidar is an assistant professor of political science in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Her research focuses on American national institutions and public policy, with emphases on minority representation, organized interests and bureaucratic politics. She holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in government from the University of Texas at Austin and received undergraduate degrees in political science and statistics from the University of California, Davis.
She is the former director of undergraduate research for the Policy Agendas Project, housed at the University of Texas. Her research has been published in the American Political Science Review, the Policy Studies Journal and the Journal of Black Studies, and has been supported by the American Political Science Association, the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life, the Irma Rangel Public Policy Institute and the Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration.
