Public Economics is one of four core courses in the Economics Department. Syracuse University has a long tradition in public economics. The research of our core faculty includes a wide range of topics on domestic expenditure programs, tax policy, and
state and local public finance. Additional faculty with public economics research interests currently work on topics in international tax policy and political economy. Collectively, our faculty provide one of the strongest and most active research
groups in the area.
