"Ethnic Election Voting Patterns in Africa, A Ticking Time Bomb: A Case Study of Zambia."

This study looks at the past 3 general elections in Zambia in terms of the voting patterns in trying to establish a strong case of how people have tended to vote for particular candidates on the basis of their tribes. The ethnic polarization exposed by the election results shows that there is so much hate, anger and negative dispositions among the people premised on ethnicity. In Africa, similar voting trends, led to deaths of millions of people in Burundi, Nigeria and Kenya. The discussion will explore some of the strategies which have been employed to address the problem which have been ineffective. The discussant will offer some proposed solutions which can help to address the brewing conflict.
