“Interorganizational Twitter Communication Networks in Tough Times: The Ecology and Multiplex Network Evolution During COVID-19”

When: Wednesday, November 3, 2021 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Where: Virtual

Description:

Speaker:  Yiqi Li

Social media afford nonprofit organizations to form topic-driven communities to discuss solutions, coordinate resources and build strategic networks around the COVID-19 social issue. This project approached the evolution of nonprofit organizations' communication networks on Twitter during the pandemic from two angles: (1) how nonprofit organizations' discourse and network structure coevolved, and (2) how nonprofit organizations formed multiple layers of communication networks. I will also discuss the future directions toward multidimensional networks, identities, and collective sense-making during the global pandemic.
