Executive Education works with Indian Civil Servants 12th Year in a Row

A delegation of 18 government officials from India successfully completed their intense 7 week training program at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University this fall.

The Maxwell School hosted these officers who were participating in a public policy program in the United States for the twelfth consecutive year this Fall. This is the international component of the Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) designed by the Maxwell School and the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) for the Government of India. The training program held its Washington D.C. component in early November this year. During their stay in the United States the Indian civil servants had an opportunity to interact with premier academics and leading practitioners in the field of public policy. While in D.C., this PGPPM group met with experts from the World Bank, IBM Institute for Electronic Government, U.S. Office for Personnel Management among others. The group also had a fruitful discussion with officials from the Government Accountability Office, World Bank and International Monetary Fund. At the conclusion of their visit to Washington DC, the group was hosted for a reception and policy discussion at the Indian Embassy.

The 2013 PGPPM participants represented the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Revenue Service, Indian Railways Service, Indian Police Service, and Indian Telecom Service.
