Humphrey fellows attend the annual Global Leadership Forum in Washington DC
The eleven Humphrey Fellows from the Maxwell School traveled to Washington DC on October 18 to attend the annual Global Leadership Forum, an event sponsored by the U.S. State Department and the Institute of International Education (IIE).
The five day event attracted 187 Fellows from 94 countries who are in the United States for 10 months of study, professional development and cultural exchange through the Humphrey Fellowship program. The Forum provides participants with the opportunity to meet Fellows from all 17 host universities, as well as staff from IIE and key representatives from the U.S. State Department.
Nimrod Goren, a Humphrey Fellow at the Maxwell School this year from Israel said, “The Global Leadership Forum was an exceptional opportunity for me to understand the world as it is today and as it is to be in the future.
Meeting emerging leaders from over 90 countries, hearing about their current realities and about their visions of change for their societies, and fostering friendships and partnerships with them were all truly eye-opening experiences which I will cherish for a long time to come.”
