Indian Forest Service attends program at Maxwell

Phase V Group - August 2010

The IFS Phase V program focuses on developing the officers’ understanding of the changing scene for environmental policy making and implementation internationally and domestically – with a focus on developing leadership and management skills to help them implement these changes.  The two weeks in the U.S. focused on sessions with leading academics, practitioners and policy makers who shared their experience and studies of various policy processes and the success and failures of implementing these policies.  The group was also able to visit the New York City watershed, Grey Towers, the United States Forest Service, World Wildlife Fund and the Department of State – Environment Directorate.  The program concluded at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy in Dehradun.
