LDF Alumni Conference in Marrakech, Morocco

From December 15 - 17 the Leaders for Democracy Fellows second annual Alumni conference will take place in Marrakech, Morocco. 28 of the 42 Fellows who attended the LDF program at the Maxwell School in 2007 and 2008 will attend. Representing the Maxwell School and Syracuse University will be, William Sullivan, Assistant Dean of External Relations, Steven Lux, Director of Executive Education and Mehrzad Boroujerdi, Professor of Political Science and Director of Maxwell's Middle East Studies Program.

Mr. Robert P. Jackson, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the United States of America in Rabat will make opening remarks. Guest speakers from the region include: Dr. Mokhtar Benabdellaoui, Dr. Mehrzad Boroujerdi of Syracuse University and Taoufik Bouachrine, Head of Redaction, Al Massae Newspaper.

Last year the alumni meet was held on December 10-12 in Cairo, Egypt.
