PGPPM program participant awarded gold medal

Alok MishraAlok Mishra, a participant of the 2007 Post-Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) program, was recently awarded the Gold Medal at the 34th IIMB Convocation Function by former Chief Justice and Chairman NHRC, M. N. Venkatchalliah.

Alok’s dissertation was on the “Analysis of Public Policy Interventions, Growth and Strategies of Media Conglomerates in Post-Liberalization Era.” We wish the best to Alok and the rest of the batch as they continue with their work.

PGPPM is the first post-graduate program of its kind in India. Initiated in 2002, with core support from the Government of India and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), PGPPM has expanded to attract leading officials from all of India’s top services.

The program is designed to equip mid-career civil servants with the concepts, skills, and techniques in formulating public policy and strategic management of public systems. PGPPM is a two-year program based at the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore with a two month session held in the U.S. at the Maxwell School.
