Certificate of Advanced Study in E-Government

The Certificate of Advanced Study in E-Government Management and Leadership is a 12-credit degree that comprises part of the 30-credit EMPA or EMIR degree.  This certificate is co-administered by the Maxwell and the iSchool.

CC - EGov Mgmt - Students

Each student must take the two required classes, IST 711 Electronic Government: Concepts and Practice (Distance/online course) and PAI 895 Executive Education Seminar: Managerial Leadership. These are the gateway courses for this CAS.   The certificate can be completed on campus or in a blended learning environment in which students take courses on campus and online.

Students will consult with their CAS advisors to select the two additional courses to complete the 6 additional credits, depending on the students experience and background as well as their expected future career path. The six credits will be taken from a designated list that will include both Maxwell School and iSchool courses (please see below).

Some students may choose to take both electives in either school or one elective from each school. The student may select courses that focus on the technical context and technical design or courses that explore the variety of organizational design and management issues that are obviously associated with the e-government implementation.
