  Masato Abe

Masato Abe is an Economic Affairs Officer in the Private Sector and Development Section, Trade and Investment Division, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).  He has extensive experience in enterprise development with a special emphasis on the SME sector and supply chain management.  Prior to joining the United Nations, he worked in the global automotive, electronics and high-technology industries.  He holds degrees in marketing, business administration and economics, and is a research fellow at Thammasat University. Robert J. Muscat is a former Chief Economist of USAID and author of several books on Thai economic development and on problems of conflict in developing countries.

Nipa Banerjee

Nipa Banerjee served as the head of Canada’s aid program in Afghanistan (2003-06). She currently teaches at the School of International Development and Global Studiesat the University of Ottawa in Canada. She frequently visits Kabul in her capacity as a Senior Policy Implementation Advisor to the government of Afghanistan.

Robert J. Muscat is a former Chief Economist of USAID and author of several books on Thai economic development and on problems of conflict in developing countries.

Bindu Lohani

Mr. Bindu N. Lohani is the Vice-President (Finance and Administration) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He assumed the position in April 2007. He is also on the Board of Advisors for Asia Policy Briefs.

Kanit Sangsubhan

Kanit Sangsubhan is a Member of the board of the Bank of Thailand. He is the also Director of the Fiscal Policy Research Institute (FPRI) of the Ministry of Finance in Thailand. He served as the Director of the Overall Planning Division at the National Economic and Social Development Board from 1996 to 1999. He is also on the Board of Advisors for Asia Policy Briefs.

Sanjoy Chowdhury

Sanjoy Chowdhury is the Executive Director, Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI) Limited. Between 1986 and 1996, he was Chief Economist, Asia Pacific Region, Merrill Lynch & Co., based in Singapore. He is a member of the Board of Advisors for Asia Policy Briefs.

Larry Schroeder

Dr. Larry Schroeder is a Professor of Public Administration, Maxwell Professor of Teaching Excellence, and Senior Research Associate in the Moynihan Institute of Global Affairs at the Maxwell School, Syracuse University. He is a public finance economist with primary interest in state and local public finance and financial management. He also serves as the Associate Editor for the Asia Policy Briefs.
