Geography Graduate Studies
Syracuse University has long been one of North America’s leading centers for graduate training in geography, with specializations in critical human geography, nature-society relations, geohumanities, community geography, geospatial analysis, and physical
geography. We value research that is socially engaged, empirically grounded and theoretically driven. Our graduate students are part of a vibrant intellectual community and work closely with faculty members in research and teaching.
The Geography program at the Maxwell School offers PhD and MA degrees. Master's students may also pursue a joint MA/MPA degree in conjunction with the Maxwell School’s Public Administration department.
