Columbia University - Council for European Studies (CES) - Mellon-CES Dissertation Completion Fellowship in European Studies
The Council for European Studies (CES) invites eligible graduate students in the humanities to apply for the 2017 Mellon-CES Dissertation Completion Fellowships in European Studies. Winners of the Mellon-CES Dissertation Completion Fellowships will also be expected to participate in a number of activities organized by the Council for European Studies, which are designed to support early career development.
School for Advanced Research (SAR) - Resident Scholar Fellowships - Weatherhead Fellowships
Two nine-month residential fellowships are available for scholars working in the humanities or social sciences. Scholars with doctorates who plan to write their books and PhD candidates who plan to write their dissertations are eligible. This fellowship is made possible through the generous support of the Weatherhead Foundation.
Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) - Multi-Country Research Fellowship Program
The Multi-Country Research Fellowship supports advanced regional or trans-regional research in the humanities, social sciences, or allied natural sciences for US doctoral candidates, and postdoctoral scholars. Preference will be given to candidates examining comparative and/or cross-regional research. Applicants are eligible to apply as individuals or in teams. Scholars must carry out research in two or more countries outside the United States, at least one of which hosts a participating American overseas research center.
Soros Foundation - Open Society Foundations - Open Society Fellowship
The Open Society Fellowship was founded in 2008 to support individuals pursuing innovative and unconventional approaches to fundamental open society challenges. The fellowship funds work that will enrich public understanding of those challenges and stimulate far-reaching and probing conversations within the Open Society Foundations and in the world.
European Commission - Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - Individual Fellowship
The goal of the Individual Fellowships is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of experienced researchers, wishing to diversify their individual competence in terms of skill acquisition through advanced training, international and intersectoral mobility. Individual Fellowships provide opportunities to acquire and transfer new knowledge and to work on research and innovation in a European context (EU Member States and Associated Countries) or outside Europe. The scheme particularly supports the return and reintegration of researchers from outside Europe who have previously worked here. It also develops or helps to restart the careers of individual researchers that show great potential, considering their experience.

American Association of University Women (AAUW) - American Postdoctoral Research Leave Fellowships
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Research Leave Fellowship is to increase the number of women in tenure-track faculty positions and to promote equality for women in higher education. This fellowship is designed to assist the candidate in obtaining tenure and further promotions by enabling her to spend a year pursuing independent research. Preference will be given to projects that are not simply a revision of the doctoral dissertation.
