Smith Richardson Foundation - Domestic Public Policy Grants
The Domestic Public Policy Program supports projects that will help the public and policy makers understand and address critical challenges facing the United States. To that end, the Foundation supports research on and evaluation of existing public policies and programs, as well as projects that inject new ideas into public debates.
Stanford University - Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society - Postdoctoral Fellowships
The Digital Civil Society Lab at the Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society (Stanford PACS) brings promising new scholars to Stanford for 1-2 year appointments as postdoctoral fellows. The Digital Civil Society Lab envisions an independent civil society that thrives in the digital age through the safe, ethical and effective use of private digital resources for public benefit. The Lab is an initiative of the Stanford PACS.
National Science Foundation (NSF) - Science of Organizations (SoO)
SoO funds research that advances our fundamental understanding of how organizations develop, form and operate. Successful SoO research proposals use scientific methods to develop and refine theories, to empirically test theories and frameworks, and to develop new measures and methods. Funded research is aimed at yielding generalizable insights that are of value to the business practitioner, policy-maker and research communities.
Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) Foundation - Harry Middleton Fellowship in Presidential Studies
Lady Bird Johnson created the Harry Middleton fellowship to support scholarly work in Presidential studies and to honor Mr. Middleton’s contributions to the Presidential library system. Fellowship recipients must conduct research at the LBJ Library and at least one other facility of the National Archives and Records Administration.
Spencer Foundation - Small Research Grants
The Small Research Grants program is intended to support education research projects with budgets of $50,000 or less. In keeping with the Spencer Foundation’s mission, this program aims to fund academic work that will contribute to the improvement of education, broadly conceived. Historically, the work we have funded through these grants has spanned, a range of topics and disciplines, including education, psychology, sociology, economics, history, and anthropology, and they employ a wide range of research methods.
National Science Foundation (NSF) - Dear Colleague Letter: NSF Accepting Proposals Related to Hurricane Irma
Through this Dear Colleague Letter, NSF encourages the submission of proposals that seek to address the challenges related to Hurricane Irma. NSF also will support fundamental science and engineering research projects whose results may enable our country to better prepare for, respond to, recover from, or mitigate future catastrophic events. Research proposals relating to a better fundamental understanding of the impacts of the storm (both physical, biological and societal), human aspects of natural disasters (including first responders and the general public), emergency response methods, and approaches that promise to reduce future damage also are welcome.
New York State Health Foundation (NYSHealth) - 2018 Special Projects Fund
The New York State Health Foundation (NYSHealth) has a broad mission to improve the health of all New Yorkers, especially the most vulnerable. NYSHealth’s efforts are concentrated on specific priority and focus areas, but to ensure flexibility and responsiveness to other important health issues, the Special Projects Fund supports projects that are outside of those areas. Projects pertaining to the following priority and focus areas will be ineligiblefor funding through the Special Projects Fund: Building Healthy Communities, Empowering Health Care Consumers, or Veterans’ Health.
Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) - Multi-Country Research Fellowship Program
The Multi-Country Research Fellowship supports advanced regional or trans-regional research in the humanities, social sciences, or allied natural sciences for US doctoral candidates, and postdoctoral scholars. Preference will be given to candidates examining comparative and/or cross-regional research. Applicants are eligible to apply as individuals or in teams. Scholars must carry out research in two or more countries outside the United States, at least one of which hosts a participating American overseas research center.
European University Institute (EUI) - Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowships
The fellowships provide a framework for established academics with an international reputation to pursue their research at the European University Institute (EUI). Fellowships take place in one of the EUI's four Departments which in turn invite fellows to participate in departmental activities (seminars, workshops, colloquia, etc.). Fellows are encouraged to make contact with researchers sharing their academic interests, may be involved in the teaching and thesis supervision tasks of EUI professors, and associated with one of the research projects being carried out at the EUI.
