European University Institute (EUI) - Jean Monnet Postdoctoral Fellowships
The Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS) offers one-year Jean Monnet Fellowships to scholars who have obtained their doctorate more than five years prior to the start of the fellowship. Jean Monnet Fellows are selected on the basis of a research proposal and of their CV. The research proposal should fit well with one of the Centre’s main research themes, programmes and projects. The three main research themes of the RSCAS are: 1) Integration, Governance and Democracy; 2) Regulating Markets and Governing Money; and 3) 21st Century World Politics and Europe.
European University Institute (EUI) - Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowships
The fellowships provide a framework for established academics with an international reputation to pursue their research at the European University Institute (EUI). Fellowships take place in one of the EUI's four Departments which in turn invite fellows to participate in departmental activities (seminars, workshops, colloquia, etc.). Fellows are encouraged to make contact with researchers sharing their academic interests, may be involved in the teaching and thesis supervision tasks of EUI professors, and associated with one of the research projects being carried out at the EUI.
American Councils for International Education - Title VIII Research Scholar Program
With funds from the U.S. Department of State (Title VIII), American Councils administers several major grants for independent, overseas policy relevant research in the humanities and social sciences as well as language training. In recent years, American Councils scholars have conducted independent research in Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, and Ukraine. American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS is pleased to announce competition for the Title VIII Research Scholar Program and the Title VIII Combined Research and Language Training Program.
American Association of University Women (AAUW) - American Postdoctoral Research Leave Fellowships
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Research Leave Fellowship is to increase the number of women in tenure-track faculty positions and to promote equality for women in higher education. This fellowship is designed to assist the candidate in obtaining tenure and further promotions by enabling her to spend a year pursuing independent research. Preference will be given to projects that are not simply a revision of the doctoral dissertation.
American Association of University Women (AAUW) - AAUW American Fellowships Summer/Short-Term Research Publication Grants
Summer/Short-Term Research Publication Grants provide support to scholars to prepare research manuscripts for publication and to independent researchers to prepare research for publication. Preference will be given to applicants whose work supports the vision of AAUW: to break through educational and economic barriers so that all women have a fair chance.
American Association of University Women (AAUW) - American Dissertation Fellowship
Dissertation Fellowships offset a scholar’s living expenses while she completes her dissertation. The fellowship must be used for the final year of writing the dissertation. Applicants must have completed all course work, passed all preliminary examinations, and received approval for their research proposals or plans by the preceding November. Students holding fellowships for writing a dissertation in the year prior to the American Association of University Women (AAUW) fellowships year are not eligible. Open to applicants in all fields of study. Scholars engaged in science, technology, engineering, and math fields or researching gender issues are especially encouraged to apply.
National Institutes of Health (NIH) - Methodology and Measurement in the Behavioral and Social Sciences (R21)
The behavioral and social sciences offer significant fundamental insights into the comprehensive understanding of human health, including disease etiology, prevention, treatment, and the promotion of health and well-being. To advance the investigation of behavioral and social factors in health and disease, and enhance the rigor and reproducibility of study results, the participating Institutes and Centers (ICs) invite qualified researchers to submit research grant applications on methodology and measurement in the behavioral and social sciences relevant to the missions of the NIH ICs.
Institute of International Education (IIE) - Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) - Fulbright Specialist Program
The Fulbright Specialist Program, part of the larger Fulbright Program, was established in 2001 by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). The program pairs highly qualified U.S. academics and professionals with host institutions abroad to share their expertise, strengthen institutional linkages, hone their skills, gain international experience, and learn about other cultures while building capacity at their overseas host institutions.
American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) - Science and Technology Policy Fellowships
AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowships (STPF) provide opportunities to outstanding scientists and engineers to learn first-hand about policymaking while contributing their knowledge and analytical skills to the federal policymaking process. Fellows serve yearlong assignments in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the federal government in Washington.
