Chronos: Undergraduate Journal
So you’ve gotten a good grade on a History paper... now what?
You could just toss it aside and let it collect dust...
or
You could submit it to Chronos: The SU History Journal
Check out the journal’s guidelines below to see if your paper is eligible for possible publication.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions to
the journal are not limited to history majors. Submissions will be accepted from all courses of study, provided the
papers have a historical aspect (i.e., art history, literary, journalistic, or
film history, sports history etc.). Chronos requires papers to be a minimum of six pages
in length; however, in the case of longer submissions, the editors may ask the
author to shorten the submission or submit only an abstract or excerpt. In an effort to produce the very best publication, the
editors will only consider papers which have received an A- or better in their
applicable course. By doing so, we hope
to showcase the very best our students have to offer to the SU community. All publishing decisions are the discretion
of the editorial board.
Style Guidelines
All submissions should be made according to the following
format:
-
Font
12 pt. Times New Roman
-
Double
spaced
-
1”
margins all around
-
When applicable, papers should include name/date
citations, such as (Davis, 1987). Papers should
also include footnotes where necessary. Formatting of footnotes should be
consistent throughout the paper. (see Turabian or Chicago style guides)
Submissions for the Journal will be accepted from October 18 to April 3.
Please submit your paper to: Chronos@maxwell.syr.edu.
Any questions – please email Professor Albrecht Diem at adiem@maxwell.syr.edu.
At the 2015 Undergraduate Awards Luncheon, Chronos faculty advisor,
Professor Osamah Khalil, presented certificates in acknowledgment of the
editorial board’s dedication and hard work.
