The 2015 recipient of the Wanetik Award is junior Adriana Curto’16.  Like Matt, Adriana was a member of the International Relations Learning Community in her first year at Syracuse and is now majoring in International Relations; she also has a second major in Citizenship & Civic Engagement.  Like Matt, she is also a member of a Greek organization, in this case the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority, and she did an alternative Spring Break trip to Miami with Habitat for Humanity.  For the IR major, she is studying the Middle East and Arabic language and cultures. She participated in our Maymester program in Israel last year and spent Fall 2014 semester at our SU Center in Istanbul, Turkey, where she learned a bit of Turkish as well.

Adriana is from Cold Spring, NY, and like Matt, also an athlete: she participated on her high school’s state champion volleyball team her junior and senior years.  She has also participated in several local and campus community service organizations since coming to Syracuse. Also like Matt, she is very friendly, vivacious, and outgoing – her personality just sparkles!
