Susan Thomas is an Assistant Professor at Syracuse University’s School of Education. She joined the university in fall 2017 and teaches courses in Qualitative Research and Epistemology and Politics of Knowledge. As an anthropologist of education, Professor Thomas has focused her research around global education and migration related to South Asia and its diaspora. Her current intellectual pursuits concern racialization, student resistance, debt, precarity, and education in the era of globalization. Professor Thomas opened up the South Asia Center’s Spring 2018  Speaker Events with a lecture called “Sociality and Reciprocity among Indian Students-Migrants.”
