Michael Williams, associate professor of public administration and international affairs, has co-authored a new book, Understanding International Security: Theory and Practice (Cambridge University Press, 2025). The book explores the meanings and debates around international security, with chapters addressing war, terrorism, violence, cyber security, health and more. 

Emily Thorson, associate professor of political science, has published How News Coverage of Misinformation Shapes Perceptions and Trust (Cambridge University Press, 2024). The book analyzes how the media addresses the issue of misinformation and how such coverage shapes public perception and trust. 

Takumi Shibaike, assistant professor of political science, has co-written “Who Tells Your Story? Women and Indigenous Peoples Advocacy at the UNFCCC” (Cambridge University Press, 2025), with co-author Bi Zhao, assistant professor of political science at Gonzaga University. 

Johanna Dunaway, professor of political science, has co-written “The House that Fox News Built? Representation, Political Accountability, and the Rise of Partisan News” (Cambridge University Press, 2025). The book scientifically examines the impact of partisan news on political elites. 

"Have Repertoire, Will Travel: Nonviolence as Global Contentious Performance," written by Associate Professor of Sociology Selina Gallo-Cruz, was published by Cambridge University Press.

Jay S. Golden, Pontarelli Professor of Environmental Sustainability and Finance at the Maxwell School, has written “Dynamic Sustainability: Implications for Policy, Markets and National Security” (Cambridge University Press, 2023). 

Simon Weschle, assistant professor of political science, has published a new book, “Money in Politics: Self Enrichment, Campaign Spending, and Golden Parachutes” (Cambridge University Press, 2022).  

Allan Mazur, professor emeritus of policy studies at the Maxwell School, has published a new book, “Ice Ages: Their Social and Natural History” (Cambridge University Press, 2022). 

Illustrated with case studies of historic and contemporary water injustices and contestations around the world, the book lays new ground for challenging current water governance forms and unequal power structures and provides inspiration for building alternative water realities. With contributions from renowned scholars, this is an indispensable book for students, researchers and policymakers interested in water governance, environmental policy and law, and political geography.
