Ames made communications director at FDA Regulatory Affairs
Jeremy Ames ’04 MPA is
the new director of the Division of Communications in the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration’s Office of Regulatory Affairs. The appointment took effect last
month.
The Office of
Regulatory Affairs leads FDA field activities, inspecting regulated products
and manufacturers, analyzing samples of regulated products, and reviewing
products imported into the United States — while working with comparable state,
local, tribal, territorial, and foreign agencies toward similar goals.
Ames’s appointment
follows 10 years of service to the Environmental Protection Agency, where he
was chief of the Communications Services staff and, before that, a
communications specialist and web content coordinator. He had also worked for
the EPA for five years immediately following his Maxwell degree, as an
environmental protection specialist. Between those EPA stints, he served nine
months on the White House Council on Environmental Quality, in 2009-10.
