Baltagi publishes new book edition and journal articles
Distinguished Professor of Economics Badi H. Baltagi has written a new edition of his book, Econometric Analysis of Panel Data, which has become the leading textbook for postgraduate courses in panel data. This fifth edition has been fully revised and includes a new chapter called "Spatial Panel Data." It also includes new empirical applications, new material on non-stationary panels, new empirical applications using STATA and EViews, updated references and additional chapter exercises. Panel data econometrics has evolved rapidly over the last decade and methods to analyze panel data are in high demand from economists.
Baltagi's article, "Prediction in the Random Effects Model with MA (q) Remainder Disturbances," was published in Journal of Forecasting's July issue. It considers the problem of forecasting in a panel data model with random individual effects and MA (q) remainder disturbances. Regional Science and Urban Economics published Baltagi's article, "Heteroskedasticity and Non-normality Robust LM Tests for Spatial Dependence," in its September edition. The article introduced general methods to modify the standard LM tests to become robust against heteroskedasticity and non-normality.
