Curtin fills new public engagement manager position
Clay Curtin '06 MPA was appointed public
engagement manager for the City of Menlo Park, California. In this position he will
be responsible for implementing a pilot program to increase community
engagement. This role, which was newly created for Curtin, is meant to help
unite members of the community and community groups directly with city
commissions. Bordering San Francisco Bay, Menlo Park has a population of
approximately 35,000 and contains many venture capital, legal, and financial
services firms focusing on the technology sector.
Curtain has spent more than 16 years in
municipal government, including six years working for Menlo Park as assistant
to the city manager. During this time he was the interim director or manager
for several city offices, including most recently being interim housing and
economic development manager. He is also a former president of the Municipal
Management Association of Southern California.
