Does state budget ignore older population?

Reeher, GrantProfessor Grant Reeher is quoted in a recent Times-Union article investigating how the 2013-14 state budget and a handful of other issues suggests that lawmakers and Governor Andrew Cuomo might be overlooking a growing segment of New Yorkers: those over age 50. Reeher states that without the imminent threat of a Medicare or Social Security pullback, senior groups may not feel the need to mobilize, because "to awake that giant, it's when you are going to take something really important away."
