A recent report jointly published by the New York Times and ProPublica claims McKinsey & Company not only worked to increase the efficiency of President Trump’s crackdown on undocumented immigrants but did so by generating severe cost-cutting recommendations. A passage from Elizabeth Cohen’s forthcoming book, Illegal: How America's Lawless Immigration Regime Threatens Us All, was cited in the New York Magazine article "ICE Didn’t Need McKinsey’s Help to Abuse Detainees."

Cohen reveals that abusive approaches were also in place during both the Clinton and Obama administrations, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection obstacles that resulted in only a small minority of people at risk of being deported ever appearing before a judge, thus cheating them of due process. 12/09/19
