Gueorguiev, McDowell study impact of economic threats on public views

Gueorguiev_McDowell"The Impact of Economic Coercion on Public Opinion: The Case of US–China Currency Relations," co-authored by Political Science faculty members Dimitar Gueorguiev and Daniel McDowell, was published in the Journal of Conflict Resolution. Gueorguiev, McDowell, and co-author David Steinberg suggest that economic coercion can reduce support for policy change because it leads individuals to update their beliefs about who wins and loses from economic policy changes. 03/26/20
