Leaders for Democracy Fellows arrive at Maxwell

Twenty-two young leaders and civil society representatives from twelve Middle Eastern and North African countries have arrived at Maxwell to attend the ninth annual Leaders for Democracy Fellows (LDF) program conducted by the Executive Education Program.  Participants between the ages of 25 and 40 with a bachelor's degree, English language fluency, and about five years of work experience have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that will benefit an organization, sector, or specific community in their home country.  They will study topics including human rights work, law, education, journalism, environmentalism, and conflict resolution through academic coursework on the SU campus until April 25.  They then will participate in practical internships in Washington, D.C., with organizations related to their fields of interest until June 16, when they return home. 03/25/15
