"It is dawning on them that the tariffs might not come off," Mary Lovely told the Washington Post, adding, "Companies are saying . . . these things we thought would be temporary will be permanent." Lovely was interviewed for the article "Fearing Trump’s China tariffs may never end, companies are taking action."

Lovely was also interviewed for the Associated Press article "Trump's new trade decision: Impose tariffs on imported cars?" According to Lovely, "This is not a negotiating tactic. Trump is a true believer . . . He wrongly believes tariffs will help the U.S. auto industry."
