Monmonier presents paper

Monmonier, MarkAt the 25th International Conference on the History of Cartography, held in Helsinki, Finland, June 30 – July 5, 2013. Mark Monmonier presented the paper “Meteorologists as Both Makers and Consumers of Maps: Contentious Notions of Progress and Accuracy in Twentieth-Century Cartography.” Monmonier was also one of four conference participants invited to participate in a news conference for the Finnish media on cartographic developments in the twentieth century. In addition, Monmonier participated in a panel session on the History of Cartography, which he serves as editor of Volume Six (Cartography in the Twentieth Century).
