O’Neil named to the Advisory Board of Mission 500
Peter O’Neil ’91 BA (IR) has joined the
advisory board of Mission 500, a nonprofit serving children, families, and
communities in crisis across the United States.
As an advisory board member, O’Neil will help
guide Mission 500 and help the charity extend both its message and its ability
to fulfill its mission. Founded in 2016, Mission 500 works closely with
partners across the security industry in order to encourage corporate social
responsibility. To date, they have provided over 40,000 meals, essential
hygiene items to 5,000 families, and distributed 13,000 sets of school supplies
to impoverished communities.
O’Neil is currently the CEO of ASIS
International, a nonprofit that provides educational, certification, and
networking opportunities to security professionals; he has held that position
for the past four years. He previously spent 16 years with the American
Industrial Hygiene Association, beginning as a director of marketing and member
services before eventually being appointed the organization’s executive
director, a role in which he served for more than seven years. Additionally,
O’Neil has served in several executive volunteer leadership positions over this
time, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
