Schwab joins United States of Care
Andrew Schwab ‘03 BA (Hist/PSt) was recently
named the senior manager of policy and federal affairs at the United States of
Care.
In his new role, Schwab will focus on
expanding United States of Care’s footprint among federal policy makers in both
the legislative and executive branches. United States of Care is a nonprofit
based in Washington, D.C., that focuses on ensuring the right of every American
to affordable and high-quality healthcare regardless of their income, social
need, or health status. By working with patients, caregivers, advocates,
clinicians, policymakers, and business, civic, and religious leaders from
across the country, United States of Care is attempting to change the narrative
around health care by redefining the goal in human rather than political terms.
Schwab previously served as chief of staff to
New Jersey Assemblyman Gary S. Schaer and as the senior legislative
representative for AARP. He was also chief of advocacy for the Alliance of
Community Health Plans and in that position led the health insurance alliance
through the 2017 Repeal and Replace Congressional debate. In addition to his
professional work, Schwab also served as the chairman of the board for the
Jason Anderson Foundation for Youth Sports.
