Sociology department presents at ASA annual conference
More than a dozen professors, Ph.D. students, and researchers in the Department of Sociology participated in the 111th Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association (ASA) in Seattle Aug. 20 - 23. While there, Madonna Harrington Meyer, chair of the sociology department, received ASA's Matilda White Riley Distinguished Scholar Award, in recognition of her work on retirement and later-life economic well-being, particularly through the lens of the gendered welfare state.
