SoldierSocks forms advisory board
SoldierSocks, a Connecticut-based organization founded by Chris Meek '92 BA (PSc & Econ) whose mission
is helping our service members take their next steps forward, announced today
the formation of a Board of Advisors to provide counsel on ways to better serve
and assist members and veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
The Advisory Board is comprised of Former United States
Senator Joseph Lieberman, Philanthropist John Linnartz, Former CEO Linda
McMahon, Colonel Bill Smullen (US Army - RET), Special Advisor to former
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretary of State General Colin
Powell, and Retired Vice Admiral Bob Murrett.
"The sacrifices of the young men and women who have served
our country so well must never be forgotten," said Senator Lieberman.
"In fulfilling its mission to help service members take their next steps
forward, SoldierSocks makes clear in very concrete and meaningful ways we
haven't forgotten their sacrifices, nor have we forgotten our obligations to
them. I'm pleased to join the SoldierSocks Advisory Board to support this
mission and help expand its reach to all those veterans who need our
support."
"It's great to be associated with SoldierSocks, which
continues to evolve, and make a very real positive contribution to the lives of
active duty and veteran service members," said Vice Admiral Murrett.
"We are excited to have such an extraordinary group of
individuals join our Advisory Board, said SoldierSocks Co-Founder, Chris Meek.
"Each member brings something different to the table, which will help
SoldierSocks achieve our mission and further our success in assisting our
nation's heroes." 09/15/14
