Van Hollen elected to Board of Trustees of the American Institute of Indian Studies

Cecilia Van Hollen, associate professor of anthropology at the Maxwell School, was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of the American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS). The organization was established in 1961 “to further the knowledge of India in the United States by supporting American scholarship on India.” The AIIS provides research fellowship support, offers language training, operates two research centers, provides support for publication, and organizes workshops and conferences. More than 6,000 scholars and creative artists have received AIIS support, with their work spanning the humanities, social sciences, social policy, and natural sciences. 

Van Hollen will begin her three-year term on July 1, 2017.
