Van Slyke, Huitink awarded prestigious grant

Maxwell LogoDavid Van Slyke, the Louis A. Bantle Chair in Business and Government Policy, and Zach Huitink, doctoral candidate in the Department of Public Administration and International Affairs, have recently been awarded a grant from the IBM Center for the Business of Government.  The award will support their research on the Better Buying Power initiative, an effort to improve acquisition practices at the Department of Defense.  The pair launched the project with a grant from the Campbell Public Affairs Institute, which supported the preliminary data collection and analysis effort.  The IBM Center awards grants twice annually, selecting 10 projects from approximately 200 proposals submitted each funding cycle.  The awards support research aimed at helping public managers make government more effective and results-oriented.   Van Slyke and Huitink’s research will be published in an IBM Center report in early 2015. 01/23/14
