Wilmoth named Gerontology Society officer
Janet Wilmoth, professor of sociology and director of
the Aging Studies Institute, has been named secretary-treasurer of the
Gerontology Society of America’s behavioral and social sciences
section. She will assume her new role during the GSA’s annual
meeting in November. Officers are responsible for governance and
strategic planning for the organization, the nation’s largest interdisciplinary
organization devoted to the field of aging, with a membership of more than
5,500 researchers, educators, and practitioners. 05/15/14
