Atlantis Dual Degree Program Options
An elite transatlantic double degree program combining degrees at Maxwell and the Hertie School in Berlin
The Atlantis Program involves post-graduate work at two universities, the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs in the United States and the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, Germany. This program is two years in length and results in two master's degrees, one from Syracuse University and another from the Hertie School.
Atlantis students study in the program as a cohort, spending the first year of the two-year program at the Maxwell School, earning either a Master of Arts in International Relations (MAIR) or a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree.
The second year of the program is spent at the Hertie School of Governance, pursuing a Master of Public Policy (MPP) or Master of International Affairs (MIA) program. During their studies, students develop and complete a professional internship and a master's thesis
under the supervision of Hertie School of Governance faculty.
Students interested in pursuing the Atlantis Program should apply for admission to either Syracuse University's Department of Public Administration and International Affairs OR the Hertie School of Governance and follow the indicated instructions. Students must be accepted by one of these schools to join the program.
