Summer 2021:  Core MPA Courses

Registration for Summer Session can be done online through MySlice.  

Fall course registration will take place on Thursday, August 2 after academic advising.  

All entering MPA students are expected to register and complete the following three courses during the summer of 2021. 

  • PAI 600: PA Colloquium – 1 Credit
    Professor Robert Bifulco.  Sessions meet July 6 to July 9 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Course: #70196

  • PAI 734: Public Budgeting – 3 credits
    Monday, July 12 to Friday, July 30.  Sessions meet from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
    Professor Yilin Hou. Course: #70170
    Professor Michah Rothbart. Course: #70012

  • PAI 755: Public Administration & Democracy - 3 credits, 
    Monday, August 2 to Friday, August 20.  Sessions meet from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
    Professor Tina Nabatchi.  Course: #70021

There are no summer course “fees” (beyond tuition) for these classes.
All courses are in SUMMER SESSION II for your summer loan application.

Online Registration Procedures

Please register for these three summer courses online through MySlice. Preferably no later than Monday June 17.  

What is MySlice?
MySlice is the online portal that Syracuse University uses to give students access to enroll in classes and to view academic profile information, grades, holds, personal information and more. In order to log in to MySlice you will need to have activated your NetID and password. If you have not yet done so, please follow the instructions available online.

Activating your NetID and password
You will need your SUID number and date of birth to activate your NetID. If you do not know your SUID number (it was on your Intent to Register Form when you were mailed your admission packet) please contact our office and we can help.

Enrolling in summer classes (MORE INFO/ COURSE #s TBA) 
Once you’ve logged into MySlice, select “Enroll in a Class” under the “Enrollment” section of the “Student Services” box. You will be asked to select a term – please select “Summer 2021”. Then you will be given the option to add a course to your shopping cart. You can either enter the 5-digit class number or search for a class using the course subject and course number. This information is provided above in the list of classes. Finally, click the "Finish Enrolling" button to confirm.
