PAIA Global Programs

Maxwell students have access to an incredibly diverse and well‑developed set of international programs. Fostering hands‑on experience, these programs enable students to develop a competitive advantage as international practitioners.

Global programs come in three main varieties:

Practical Experience

Global Studies

World Partners

Programs of practical experience combine professional development—typically in the form of an internship—with coursework. Global studies programs are focused on specialized seminars and coursework, whereas, world partner programs are universities around the world that SU has established partnership programs.

Through student initiative, internships or other practical experience can be combined with global studies and world partner programs. Participants are encouraged to reach out to the faculty leading the programs and relevant SU offices in the region for support in obtaining practical experience in addition to the coursework. Furthermore, Maxwell's alumni network in 149 countries allows for a wealth of possibilities in every international relations sub-field and career track.

For Public Administration and International Affairs (PAIA) students' first hand accounts of global programs, refer to the global PAIA blog: The Stacks: PAIA at Home & Abroad.
