In a typical year, our students conduct more than 130 internships at over 80 Washington area institutions, organizations and agencies. Through courses, lectures, site visits and on-on-one conversations, our faculty connected students to more than150 public policy and international affairs experts representing government, NGOs, think tanks, the private sector, media, multilateral organizations and foreign embassies. U.S. Rep. Carolyn Bourdeaux ’03 built a career analyzing and teaching public policy—and now she’s making policy. Bourdeaux won her seat in November 2020 following a close race in Georgia.

Professor Jamie Winders moderates 2019 panel at CSIS

Professor Winders was one of five panelists on Congressionally mandated report exploring the policies and procedures related to the registration of small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). The report is intended to guide FAA policy decisions regarding the registration and regulation of UAS.
