Career Development

Launching a lasting career in public service

Employers trust Maxwell graduates to possess a strong foundation in skills, naturally. But they know also that a Maxwell alumnus brings a trademark blend of analytical know-how, broadmindedness, perseverance, and ingenuity. Because of the special breadth of a PAIA education, Maxwell alumni obtain excellent positions, with real responsibility and influence.

To help students begin their post-Maxwell career, the School maintains the Office of Career Development.

Lystasch,-BeccaIt sponsors employer recruiting visits, career panels, workshops and tutoring on career-search skills, and the like. Its services span every phase of a job search — from self-reflection and research to negotiating multiple job offers; these are career-development tools you'll continue to use well beyond Maxwell.

Many of the office's services are available, also, to alumni later in their careers; alumni sometimes come back for help.  And they often return the favor, providing leads from all over the U.S. and the world. More than 500 organizations post their open positions with us throughout the year; that's more than 1,000 available positions

Curious about where PAIA graduates go next? We've prepared these summaries of 2015 MPA Employment Statistics and 2015 MAIR Employment Statistics.
