INSCT LogoTake part in a unique public workshop to evaluate and discuss policy options surrounding the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs, also called drones) in our community. This opportunity is part of a New York State grant research study conducted by Syracuse University’s Institute of National Security and Counterterrorism (INSCT) to gauge community response to the growing use of these systems. Your input from this process will be used to inform policy and decision makers about the concerns, values, and ideas of Central New Yorkers.

The event will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on March 26, 2017 at the Fayetteville Community Centre in the Tower Centre Mall (102 Towne Drive, Fayetteville, NY 13066). You do NOT need to be an “expert” to participate, but you must be over the age of 18.

At the event, you will learn about UAVs and the policy and legal issues surrounding their use. You will be asked to discuss these issues, offer your ideas, and develop recommendations. You will also be asked to complete brief surveys. At the conclusion of the workshop, you will receive a $25 gift card as a token of our appreciation. Light refreshments and snacks also will be provided.

If you are available to participate, please RSVP by calling 315-443-2284 (INSCT Office).

If you have any questions about the research, please contact Professor Tina Nabatchi at 315-443-2367 or tnabatch@syr.edu .
