Take part in a
unique public workshop to evaluate and discuss policy options surrounding the
use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs, also called drones) in our community.
This opportunity is part of a New York State grant research study conducted by
Syracuse University’s Institute of National Security and Counterterrorism
(INSCT) to gauge community response to the growing use of these systems. Your
input from this process will be used to inform policy and decision makers about
the concerns, values, and ideas of Central New Yorkers.

You do NOT need to be an “expert” to participate, but you must be over the age
At the event, you
will learn about UAVs and the policy and legal issues surrounding their use.
You will be asked to discuss these issues, offer your ideas, and develop
recommendations. You will also be asked to complete brief surveys. At the
conclusion of the workshop, you will receive a $25 gift card as a token of our
appreciation. Light refreshments and snacks also will be provided.
