Originally born in California, Hanna grew up in Seoul, South Korea and received BA in political science from Kyung Hee University in 2014. Having completed research assistantship in COPION (Cooperation and Participation in Overseas NGOs) and CIVICUS (World Alliance in Citizen Participation) Geneva, she became interested in international participation of developing countries. Hanna has been working with North Korean settlers in South Korea which developed interests in understanding of authoritarian regimes. While in Maxwell, Hanna's research interest remains at environmental politics; what type of political environment encourages/ hamstrings changes from oil based energy to sustainable energy.
