Angely is from San
Juan, Puerto Rico and Miami, Florida. She received her B.A in International
Studies and French from the University of Alabama, where she was also a diver
on the swimming and diving team. While an undergraduate, she conducted research
on Russian conflict management in Central Asia and the Caucasus region, and
studied abroad in Prague.
Angely contributes to
the Global Blackspots project, and has updated the cases of Marbella (Spain)
and Nuevo Lago (Ecuador). She is currently working on updating South Ossetia.
