Biography
Emily
Dean was born and raised in Rochester, NY. She attended the University at
Buffalo for her undergrad, and completed a BA in Political Science, a
concentration in International Relations, with a minor in History. While
studying at the University at Buffalo, she was a member of the UB Dance Team,
and interned for Congressman Chris Collins of New York’s 27th
District. During her last semester of undergrad, she interned for the Atlantic
Council in Washington, DC, working in the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and
Security, the Foresight, Strategy, and Risks Initiative. Her research interests
include: the United Nations peacekeeping operations, post-conflict resolution,
civil-military relations, defense contracting, and general security operations.
While at Syracuse, Emily intends to focus further on international relations
and security studies.
