Keith Bybee, professor of political science, Chris Faricy, Hicker Family Professor of Renewing Democratic Community, and Shana Gadarian, Merle Goldberg Fabian Professor of Excellence in Citizenship and Critical Thinking, joined WAER to discuss Central New York's midterm elections.

New York’s newly drawn 22nd Congressional District hosts one of the most competitive races in the upcoming midterm elections. The district includes areas previously represented by moderate Rep. John Katko (in NY-24), who is not running in 2022.

“With new lines being drawn, it injects a lot of uncertainty into the race,” says Faricy, professor of political science. “With Katko not being on the ballot, we have two new candidates who have to introduce themselves to the voters of Central New York.”
