The stakes are high for President Biden‘s meeting with NATO allies as the war continues in Ukraine, but expectations for results are low as Europe and the U.S. show little interest for their remaining options to deter Russian President Putin’s forces. "The American people should have low expectations for this summit," says Michael Williams, associate professor of public administration and international affairs. "The administration is concerned with containing the conflict, not escalating it, and they view options like fighter jets and a no-fly zone as an escalation. You will see more of the same at this summit," he says. Read more in the Washington Times article, "Stakes high, expectations low for Biden’s European tour.

Williams was also interviewed on KCBS Radio for the segment "President Biden attempts to shore up solidarity at emergency NATO summit."
